Chicago Architectural Metals opened for =

in 1997, founded by Alfredo
Von =
Samek, a=20
former Lieutenant in the US Army and Special Agent for the =
FBI.
After =
completing=20
his civil career, Alfredo worked in the international importing =
and
exporting of metals as well as =
in metal=20
fabrication and erection. It was this
experience that=20
led to his entrepreneurial adventure, a boutique firm that
specializes in=20
custom ornamental iron, structural steel and architectural metals.
From =
the start=20
the SBA was there to help providing sound business =

and =

In the =
beginning=20
the jobs were small and not particularly glamorous=E2=80=93 =

on
these =
modest=20
projects, and consistently providing good customer service, =
quality
craftsmanship and=20
value, it wasn=E2=80=99t long before the firm began to grow in =
size,
projects, scope=20
and numbers.
In =
1998, after=20
graduating from the University of Michigan, Jonathan Von =
Samek,
the =
eldest of=20
Alfred=E2=80=99s sons came to work for his father with a strong interest =
in=20
the
business side of=20
the operation. Joining his father in estimating, and field =
work,
Jonathan spent a=20

to Vice =
President=20
of Chicago Architectural Metals where he =
now oversees=20
